I like taking favorite store-bought items and transforming them for special occasions. A pre-made cheesecake slices easily into triangles that resemble evergreen trees. Add a couple of supplies—candy melts and sprinkles—and you’ve got an adorable holiday dessert with minimal effort.

Start by picking up two Sara Lee® cheesecakes from your local grocery store freezer aisle. Choose the Classic cheesecake rather than a fruit-topped variety so the coating and decorations adhere evenly to the surface.

Gather bags of candy melts in the colors you love, a selection of sprinkles, wax or parchment paper, and treat sticks if you want to make cheesecake pops. You can skip the sticks and serve the tree wedges directly—either way works well.

Lacie’s Easy Peasy Pleasy Tips
  • Skip the treat sticks. To save time, omit sticks and serve slices on a platter.
  • Slice while frozen. Cheesecake slices more cleanly when frozen. Run your knife under warm water between cuts for smoother edges.
  • Fill piping bags easily. Place a zip-top bag inside a jar or cup, fold the top over the rim, and spoon melted candy melts into the bag for neat filling.
  • Apply sprinkles immediately. Have sprinkles ready because you should add them right after piping the candy melts so they stick while the coating is still wet.

Cheesecake Christmas Trees

  • Servings: 12
  • Time: 20 minutes active (plus chilling/freezing)
  • Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients

  • 2 Sara Lee® Cheesecakes (Classic)
  • Candy melts in desired colors
  • Sprinkles
  • Treat sticks (optional)

Directions

Follow the cheesecake package directions to remove the cheesecake from the pan. Keep the cheesecake frozen for easier slicing. Cut each cheesecake in half, then cut each half into thirds to create triangular slices. If using treat sticks, place individual slices on a plate and refrigerate for about 10 minutes to slightly thaw, then insert sticks at the wide end and return to the freezer to firm up.

Keep the remaining slices frozen until you’re ready to decorate. Melt each color of candy melts according to package directions, then transfer each color to a separate zip-top bag. Prepare a work surface by rolling out wax or parchment paper. Place each cheesecake slice on the paper and snip a tiny corner off a bag to pipe the melted candy melts. Drizzle or pipe the coating back and forth over each slice to create your desired look, then add sprinkles while the coating is still wet. Use a small dab of melted candy to adhere any larger sprinkles or decorations.

Once decorated, keep the cheesecake trees frozen until serving, or transfer to the refrigerator a couple of hours before serving so they soften slightly. Enjoy!

I hope these easy 3-ingredient Cheesecake Christmas Trees add joy and color to your holiday celebrations. If you try them, share your results or any variations you love—I always enjoy hearing new ideas and tips.
