S’mores chocolate covered strawberries are a delightful dessert for Valentine’s Day or any special occasion. They’re simple to make at home and always impressive.

Valentine’s Day is approaching, and while we don’t always make a big deal of the holiday, we do make a habit of celebrating with good desserts. These s’mores chocolate covered strawberries are a quick, charming treat that work any day of the year. They combine juicy strawberries, rich chocolate, crunchy graham crumbs, and gooey marshmallow for a playful s’mores-inspired bite.
I don’t always observe Valentine’s Day, but desserts are a frequent celebration in our home. I do remember one memorable college Valentine’s Day: a well-intentioned friend brought a dozen roses that had not fared well in the dorm refrigerator. To add to the awkwardness, there were only eleven roses in the box. It made for an uncomfortable conversation and a story I still laugh about. Clearly, that friend was not my partner now, and the memory is a gentle reminder that the day doesn’t have to be perfect to be memorable.
Whether you’re celebrating with a partner, laughing about past Valentine’s Days, or simply treating yourself, take a little time to make something special. These s’mores chocolate covered strawberries are fast to prepare, look beautiful, and taste even better than they appear.

S’mores Chocolate Covered Strawberries
I enjoy experimenting with recipes that combine simple ingredients into something special. For these strawberries, you’ll need only a few kitchen tools: a double boiler (or a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water), a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and a small bowl for graham cracker crumbs. Wearing gloves while dipping can help keep your hands clean and protect them from hot chocolate.
Begin by washing the strawberries and drying them thoroughly—any moisture will prevent the chocolate from sticking properly. Arrange a “dipping station” by the stove: melted chocolate in the double boiler, a bowl of crushed graham crackers, and the parchment-lined sheet for setting the strawberries. Work in small batches so the chocolate stays smooth and manageable.

To dip, hold each strawberry by the stem, dip it into the melted chocolate, and gently roll or tap to remove excess. Immediately roll the chocolate-coated berry in the graham cracker crumbs so they adhere while the chocolate is still wet. Place each finished berry on the parchment to set.
Once all strawberries are coated and chilled briefly if needed, melt the mini marshmallows with a teaspoon of water until they form a glossy, pourable consistency. A spoon or small fork works well for drizzling the melted marshmallow over the strawberries in thin streams. The marshmallow will set quickly, so work steadily and refrigerate the finished berries for about 30 minutes to firm up before serving.

These strawberries store best in the refrigerator in a single layer for up to a day—longer storage can soften the graham crumbs and affect texture. They make a lovely gift when boxed carefully and are a fun, nostalgic nod to classic s’mores flavors.

Ingredients
- 16 strawberries
- 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
- ½ cup crushed graham cracker crumbs
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
- 1 teaspoon water
Instructions
- Wash and dry the strawberries thoroughly. Any moisture will prevent the chocolate from adhering.
- Set up a double boiler over medium heat. Place the chocolate in the top bowl and stir until melted and smooth.
- Holding a strawberry by the stem, dip it into the melted chocolate and turn to coat evenly. Immediately roll the chocolate-covered berry in the graham cracker crumbs and place it on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Repeat with all strawberries, working in batches so the chocolate remains smooth. If the chocolate thickens, briefly rewarm it over the double boiler.
- Clean the double boiler or use a second bowl. Place the mini marshmallows and water in the top and melt, stirring until the marshmallows become a glossy, pourable liquid.
- Drizzle the melted marshmallow over the chocolate-coated strawberries using a spoon, fork, or piping bag for controlled lines.
- Allow the strawberries to set at room temperature for about 30 minutes, then refrigerate until firm. Store in a single layer in the refrigerator for best texture.
